Leroy Sane omission shows Germany’s strength

Germany boss Joachim Loew has named his 23-man World Cup squad. One man who will surprisingly not be in Russia with Die Mannschaft is Manchester City s talented young attacking midfielder Leroy Sane, who has just enjoyed a fine season with the Citizens.

Sane was named PFA Young Player of the Year after scoring ten times and producing 15 assists as City ran away with the Premier League title. His omission is a sign of just how strong Germany are in the attacking midfield department.

Sane would start for most teams in Russia

The fact that Germany could afford to leave Sane out of their World Cup is frightening for the world champions opponents at this summers World Cup. Sane would walk into most teams starting line-ups, so for him not to even be in the squad is a warning…

Lyon, Monaco vying for Diego Lainez

French heavyweights Olympique Lyon and AS Monaco are said to be locked in the battle for a highly talented Mexican youth prospect Diego Lainez.

The America winger made a Clausura debut in 2017 as a 16-year-old and went on to impress in 23 Liga MX appearances for his club.

Lainez is currently away with Mexico Under-17 side at the Torneo Esperanzas de Toulon where several emissaries from Europe’s top clubs are keeping a close eye on his with a view on a potential summer move.

According to the reports coming from Mexico, the America youngster is being tracked by Lyon and AS Monaco who are prepared to open negotiations with the Mexican club.

America will reportedly demand a transfer fee in excess of $25 million for their valued asset.

Chelsea produce second-half goal blitz against Preston to progress in FA Cup

Chelsea scored three times in 11 second-half minutes to ease into the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 4-0 win over Preston at Stamford Bridge.

A frustrating showing from Mauricio Pochettino’s side, in which they hogged the ball throughout the first half but carved few openings, burst to life 13 minutes after the break with Armando Broja heading in his second goal of the season from Malo Gusto’s cross.

That was followed by two in rapid succession, first from substitute Thiago Silva, who nodded in from Cole Palmer’s corner, then another when Raheem Sterling whacked a free-kick beyond the dive of goalkeeper Freddie Woodman, as Preston’s accomplished first-half defensive showing faded into memory.

Enzo Fernandez tapped in right at the end from a yard out, a…

`Tottenham striker Pavlyuchenko set to return to Russia`

Roman Pavlyuchenko isn`t happy at Tottenham Hotspur and Zenit St Petersburg is aware of his problems. The Russian giants want to offer him a comeback to Russia in January.

Pavlyuchenko joined Tottenham Hotspur from Spartak Moscow in the summer of 2008. The long striker never managed to live up to his expectations.

This year, the 27-year-old is fourth choice in attack for Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp who prefers Jermain Defoe, Robbie Keane and Peter Crouch ahead of Pavlyuchenko.

Considering his position at White Hart Lane, Pavlyuchenko is destined to move on with as transfer to Zenit the most likely option.

Premier League Preview: Manchester United v Crystal Palace

Manchester United manager David Moyes will be out to secure his first win at Old Trafford when they face newly promoted Crystal Palace.

The defending Premier League champions head into the game against Ian Holloway s men after suffering a 1-0 defeat to fierce rivals Liverpool before the international break.

United are just one point ahead of Palace, who earned their first win of the season with a 3-1 triumph over Sunderland at Selhurst Park, after the first three games, with their only success coming on the opening day against Swansea City.

The defeat at Anfield which followed a dour 0-0 home draw with Chelsea marked the first time that United have failed to score in consecutive league matches since 2007.

Outgoing Nagelsmann still has Hoffenheim´s trust

Julian Nagelsmann retains the trust of Hoffenheim majority shareholder Dietmar Hopp despite agreeing a move to RB Leipzig from the 2019-20 season.

The 30-year-old head coach, who had previously been linked with Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, announced last week he would leave Hoffenheim after one more campaign and join Bundesliga rivals Leipzig.

Hopp does not expect Nagelsmann s commitment to waiver and was pleased his impending move allows for a smoother transition in Sinsheim.

We trusted him in February 2016 when Huub Stevens had to stop in the middle of a difficult relegation battle and we trust him today, said Hopp in an interview with Hoffenheim s official website.

A few months ago, Julian agreed to let me know as soon as he decided to change…

Bournemouth close in on Brooks

Bourmemouth are on the verge of completing the £12m signing of David Brooks from Sheffield United, according to the Mail Online.

The twenty-year old broke into the Blades’ first team last season and racked up thirty league appearances, scoring three goals while his form saw him gain senior international recognition.

He made his debut for Wales in a 2-0 friendly defeat to France in November before also playing in the 1-1 draw with Panama four days later while his third and last outing came in May’s goalless draw with Mexico.

Prior to his switch to Bramall Lane he spent ten years in the youth ranks with Manchester City while he signed a five-year deal with the Sheffield club in 2016, which is why the Cherries are laying out such a hefty fee.
